Aubussons are one of the most widely recognized rugs today, also known as flat-woven French Carpet due to its pileless tapestry technique that was employed in its production. It was weaved primarily for nobility and the wealthy. These floor coverings were ambitious in size and weaved at the village of Aubusson and Felletin in the department of Creuse in central France. Aubussons were one of the first product lines French Accents specialized in. Our goal was simple, to recreate the same exact weaving technique, style, texture, and quality while making it affordable to the average person. We wanted to make the rug that was once made for nobility, accessible so that everyone can appreciate the splendor of the decorative Aubusson rugs.
